I must say, though, Lilly is about the sweetest dog ever. I hope Liberty turns out to be as sweet and well tempered. I do crate train her at night and luckily enough she doesn't cry or anything. You'll no doubt do a great job as a puppy parent. The most valuable tidbit of info I can think of, aside from housebreaking without puppy pads/newspaper, is crate training. If Liberty knows that the crate is her den, everything else becomes so much easier. After Lily's knee fracture last year, Adam and I made sure to crate her during the day to avoid more heartache. Nowadays, Lily immediately goes to her crate when we're ready for work or goes on command. Her favorite treat?
